PRP Injections
Draper Utah
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facial injections serve as a rejuvenating "natural filler," designed to impart a more youthful aesthetic. By utilizing a concentration of platelets derived from the patient's own blood, this treatment stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The process involves injecting PRP to encourage the growth of new collagen and promote the regeneration of healthy skin. Our preference is to apply PRP injections strategically, particularly in areas such as smile lines and under the eyes to alleviate dark circles. The rich blend of growth factors and platelets in PRP actively contributes to tissue repair around the eyes, resulting in a revitalized, smooth appearance.

How does PRP work?
If you are looking for a safe and natural way to get effective results for targeting skin concerns, look no farther! The Spa Wellness Center in Draper Utah is excited to offer PRP Injections! Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections work through harnessing the natural healing properties of your own blood to rejuvenate and enhance the skin. Here's a step-by-step explanation of how PRP injections work:
Blood Collection- A small amount of your blood is drawn, usually from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.
Centrifugation- The drawn blood is then placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins rapidly to separate its components. This process isolates the platelets and plasma from other blood components.
PRP Extraction- The centrifugation results in a concentrated solution containing a higher-than-normal number of platelets, known as platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
Preparation for Injection- The PRP is prepared for injection, often combined with a numbing agent for enhanced comfort during the procedure.
Targeted Injection- The prepared PRP is then injected into the specific areas of the skin that require treatment. Common areas include the face, particularly around the eyes and mouth.
Stimulation of Collagen and Elastin- Once injected, the growth factors in the PRP stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the treated area. Collagen provides structural support, while elastin contributes to skin elasticity.
Tissue Repair and Regeneration- The growth factors and other bioactive proteins in PRP promote tissue repair and regeneration, leading to improved skin texture, reduction in fine lines, and overall skin rejuvenation.
Gradual Results- Results from PRP injections are not immediate. It takes some time for the body to generate new collagen and for the skin to undergo the rejuvenation process. Patients typically notice improvements over the following weeks and months.
